John Macuga Returns to FSC after 11 Months in Iraq
John Macuga, institutional research officer at FSC, returned to campus recently after serving for 11 months in Iraq as a first lieutenant in the 101st field artillery of the National Guard, Brockton, MA. For the whole period he was in Baghdad, providing security for state department officials as they traveled around the city.
“It was a long year,” says Macuga, “but it was important for me and my soldiers to feel we were contributing to the diplomatic mission in Iraq. This is something few soldiers get to experience.”
“It’s wonderful to be on campus for the fall and to see progress in all the construction that’s going on,” adds Macuga. He is also happy to be working again in the office of institutional research with new staff, Ann Caso, formerly of the registrar’s office, and Cynthia McReynolds.
We are all glad to welcome him back to FSC safe and sound!
