Tom Frost, ‘87, Speaks to Computer Science Majors
Tom Frost, ’87, a computer science graduate of FSC, visited the college on Tuesday, October 23, to give a lecture in the fall 2007 Computer Science Speaker Series. His topic was “Technology in Large vs. Small Companies.” The series brings FSC alumni and others to campus to speak to students about career opportunities in the computer science field.
Frost, seen here with Professor Conny Breuning of the computer science department, coordinator of the series, spoke about the benefits and challenges of working in technology departments for both large and small companies, and of being self-employed.
Frost is the owner of Frost Data Systems, an independent software consulting firm based in Hopedale, MA. He was previously employed at Staples, Inc. He was the first developer and manager on the Staples.com IS project team which remains a significant source of revenue for this world-wide $12 billion company.
