FSC Community Collects Toys for Tots
Last week Framingham State College joined in a Toys for Tots Drive sponsored on campus by the Whittemore Library. Students, faculty and staff donated holiday toys for needy children, collected in the library and in the college center. Millie Gonzalez, reference and electronic resources librarian, coordinated the effort, with support from Jill Hayward of the student involvement office. FSC was the only college in the Boston area participating in the drive.
The drive was a contribution to the nationwide Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium World Record Toy Drive, coordinated across the country by Walden Media. The goal was to break the world record for the largest toy drive. That goal was met: 28,808 pounds of toys were collected, easily surpassing the previous record of 12,000 pounds.

Another key contributor to the Toys for Tots efforts was Debbie Hogan, Periodicals Supervisor from the Whittemore Library.
